Metallizing

CPFilms utilizes thermal evaporative coating to meet the specialized needs of various applications such as ESD and other forms of packaging, graphic arts materials, paper and board laminates, decorative films, labels, and automotive films and trim. With more than 20 years of metallizing experience, CPFilms is one of the most experienced industry suppliers of this technology.

Through a tightly controlled process, we deposit a uniform aluminum coating onto the film surface. We can meet specific customer requirements, with vapor depositions ranging from 100 to 750 angstroms ... 0.2 to 4.0 optical density ... 65% VLT to opaque ... and 0.5 to 100 ohms per square. Plasma treating of the raw film is also available.

Metallizing is performed in clean humidity- and temperature-controlled facilities to avoid product contamination which could be very costly in downstream processing. Our proprietary capabilities enable us to provide our customers with a very high degree of uniformity cross-web, down-web, and roll-to-roll.

We can produce vacuum coated film products using a variety of films to meet specific performance requirements, such as:

  • Polyester (PET), including filled, unfilled, matte and scratch-brushed
  • Polyethylene naphthalate (PEN)
  • Polycarbonate
  • Polypropylene
  • Polyethylene
  • Fluoropolymer

Metallizing is available on substrate thicknesses ranging from 0.25 mil to 10 mil (6 to 250 microns), in roll dimension widths from 12 to 80 inches (30.5 cm to 203 cm) .
